Diane Stein initially encountered hands-on healing methods in 1983. From that point forward, she participated in workshops and offered her healing practice to people without charge. It was in 1987 that she first learned of Reiki, when two men observed her performing a brief hands-on healing and approached her.

They inquired about who had taught her Reiki and insisted on touching her hands. Her hands were hot following the healing session — confirming that Diane was a Reiki healer. This encounter ignited her curiosity to learn more.
